Falls Church, Virginia
Welcome to Falls Church
Known as the “Little City”, Falls Church exudes small-town charm and is only 6 miles from Washington DC. With a population near 14,000, this close-knit community is where people watch out for each other and neighbors quickly become friends. Parents love Falls Church’s excellent school system and children benefit from the small class sizes and strong friendships that last from kindergarten to adulthood.
Houses in Falls Church range from classic Tudor and Colonials to Cape Cod, Craftsman, and ranch style dwellings on winding tree-lined streets with spacious yardage. Although the majority of houses are single-family residences, there are also a number of townhomes, modern condominiums, and luxury estates.
Safe and friendly, diverse and historic, with picturesque green spaces and many annual events that bring the community together, Falls Church is where young single professionals can start their lives, grow a family, and retire in a peaceful community with the amenities of dynamic Washington DC a short drive away.
Falls Church has 12 gorgeous parks and a multitude of scenic trails for walking, jogging, and cycling. The Wolftrap National Park for the Performing Arts is a fifteen-minute drive away where residents enjoy indoor and outdoor concerts and theater performances all year long; it also features the Children’s Theater in the Woods for young art aficionados. The Saturday morning Farmer’s Market in Falls Church is open year-round and a community gathering spot with live music, unique vendors, fresh produce, homemade prepared goods, and so much more. In fact, in 2010 it received first place in the medium category as America’s Best Loved Farmer’s Markets by America’s Farmland Trust. Other community events include the Memorial Day Parade, the Halloween Carnival, Blues Festival, Independence Day party, summer movies in the park, and many others.
Falls Church may be small, but you can easily find your daily and personal requirements in the town itself. Downtown Falls Church has a commercial sector with several locally owned businesses and a revitalization of the area is due to be completed by summer 2018.
